2,656 households in owner-occupied houses

Vingåker is clearly a house-dominated municipality. In 2025, 2,656 of the municipality’s 4,135 households lived in owner-occupied houses, according to Statistics Sweden.

That corresponds to 64.2 percent of all households. Including houses with tenant ownership or rental tenure, the house share is 67.6 percent — roughly two in three households.

Much higher than county and national shares

This differs from both the county and Sweden as a whole. In Södermanland County, 39.9 percent of households lived in owner-occupied houses in 2025. Nationally, the figure was 38.3 percent.

Rental apartments second largest

The second largest housing form in Vingåker was rented apartments in multi-dwelling buildings: 1,007 households, or 24.4 percent.

Tenant-owned apartments were much less common: 112 households, or 2.7 percent.

More living space per person

Statistics Sweden’s area measure also shows that Vingåker residents have more housing space per person on average: 48 square metres across all housing forms in 2025.

For Vingåker readers, the statistics help explain why house prices, heating, renovations, car dependence and school transport often become everyday local issues.

How to read the figures

The figures do not show today’s market price or the value of an individual home. They describe household housing form in 2025.
